Bill Gates spent seven years and $63 million building his Xanadu 2.0 residence near Medina, Washington, after the fictitious home of Charles Foster Kane, the main character of “Citizen Kane.” The house is huge at 66,000 square feet and is filled to the brim with cutting-edge amenities.
Xanadu 2.0 is what’s known as an “earth-sheltered” home, which means it’s constructed into the ground to better control its temperature.
