Warburg House represents a lesson in architecture absorption and adaptability since it was a Gilded Age mansion that was fought to be used as a museum in the contemporary day. Architect Charles Pierrepont Henry Gilbert constructed it between 1907 and 1908. Gilbert built a Late Gothic/Early Renaissance Revival home on a property at 92nd Street and Fifth Avenue, near the northern end of “Millionaires’ Row.”
The Warburg Mansion is notable not just for its history and architecture but also for its longevity among the many other properties along Fifth Avenue that were once grand but have since been demolished due to the area’s high estate values.
