Renée Elise Goldsberry started her television career as a backup singer on “Ally McBeal,” a comedy series by Fox. In 2001, she entered the film industry and had a lead role in “All About You,” a movie in the romantic and comic genre, and she sang more than half of the film’s soundtrack.

Goldsberry earned a massive fan following when she became a replacement for Nala in the Broadway production “The Lion King” on July 8, 1997. In 2007, she returned in an off-Broadway production of “The Baker’s Wife.” She is also a singer and has given many hits like “The Schuyler Sisters” and “Famous 5eva.”
