Gene Kelly – Singin’ in the Rain

Gene Kelly was an American movie icon, dancer, singer, and choreographer known for his athletic dancing style in the ’40s and ’50s. He accomplished his first Broadway assignment in 1938 as a dancer in Cole Porter’s “Leave it to Me.” Later, in 1940, he gained fame in the lead role in Rodgers and Hart’s musical “Pal Joey.”

Kelly’s first significant milestone was “The Time of Your Life,” in which he danced to his own choreography for the first time on Broadway and won a Pulitzer Prize. He later also received the Academy Honorary Award for his career achievements and a lifetime achievement award.
