Susan Sarandon has been acting since she was young. Although the award-winning actress began her professional career in the ’70s, she made appearances in her high school as the lead character in two plays, “Lady Precious Dream” and “My Sister Eileen.” She later went on to study drama and earned a degree.

After her professional career took off, she won more notable roles in films like “The Rocky Horror Picture Show” in 1975 and the movie that earned her her first Academy Award nomination, “Atlantic City.” Before she started earning well as an actress, she previously took some odd jobs, including working as a switchboard operator to support herself.
