A “Precious” Installation

The iconic fantasy trilogy “The Lord of the Rings” was filmed entirely in New Zealand. Maybe because of that, the local Wellington airport decided it was a good idea to pay homage to one of the most popular cinematic productions ever made. So, they installed a 43-foot-long statue of ‘Gollum’ in their restaurant area.

Eating a burger and getting some coffee with a giant ‘Gollum’ overlooking you sure made for a unique experience, but sadly, the installation was only temporary. After making a headlining debut in 2012, the gigantic “LOTR” character left the building. Too bad we weren’t there to see it with our own eyes!
