Gwen Verdon – Damn Yankees

Gwen Verdon is a four-time Tony Award-winning actress famous for her musical comedy performances. She has also worked as a Choreographer assistant at different stages of her life. Her career’s turning point was when she started working as an assistant to choreographer Jack Cole; both Hollywood and Broadway appreciated her work.
In 1955 her performance in the show “Damn Yankees” earned her tremendous success; the story was based on the 1954 literary work”The Year the Yankees Lost the Pennant” by Douglass Wallop. She starred in many movies, including “Cocoon” and “Dream on.” The “The Cotton Club” star was active in the business until she left us in October 2000.
