Carol Burnett, famous for her comedy shows “The Carol Burnett Show,” is an American singer and comedian. She has also famously appeared as a panelist in different game shows. Beginning her career in the early ’50s, she got minor or no roles. In 1959, the Broadway musical “Once Upon a Mattress” gave her absolute heights of fame. She also participated in a Broadway musical, “Fade Out – Fade In,” but later withdrew to participate in another show.
Burnett has lent her comedic stylings to several hit films like ”The Four Seasons” and “Noises off.” Never short of honorary awards, she also got the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 2005.
