At just 11 months old, she began her modeling career with Ivory Soap. Her modeling success continued until late into her teenage years.
During this time, she already began to delve into acting and landed a lead role in the 1978 movie “Pretty Baby.” Despite her booming career, Shields took time off from acting to fulfill other ambitions. She attended Princeton and earned a bachelor’s degree in Romance Languages before going back to acting in the ’90s.
