A study found that after an hour of regular use, 500K bacteria covered every square inch of a bathroom surface. These bacteria include streptococcus, staphylococcus, E. coli, and shigella bacteria. There have even been numerous reports of people acquiring STDs and UTIs from public bathrooms.
