A fall on an outstretched arm can lead to numerous orthopedic injuries, especially around the hand. It can cause a fracture of the proximal humerus. It can lead to shoulder dislocation associated with the tearing of cartilage in the shoulder joint. It can even cause fractures of the many tiny bones in our wrists.
