American singers Ashlee Simpson and Pete Wentz were only a couple for a brief period of five years before they parted ways. They first met at the MTV Video Music Awards in 2006 and instantly fell for each other. They decided to marry in 2008 with a goth theme at the reception. This happened despite the disapproval of Simpson’s family.
Even though they divorced in 2011, they continued co-parenting their son Bronx Mowgli. Wentz called his divorce a low point in his life, saying that Simpson was his motivation through thick and thin. Now, the only support system that he has is his band.
