The concept of preserving a space for exotic animals was rooted in the ancients, where Egyptian pharaohs were great collectors. However, the idea did not age well as animals were kept for prestige and entertainment that only the great and powerful could attend.

With this, some organizations put up more space while others invested in research concerning animals. The world’s oldest scientific zoo was opened in London in 1828, with the original intention to use them for scientific study. It is known to be the London Zoo or the London Zoological Gardens. Over time, the concept inspired other countries, and they invented more zoo parks for education and recreational purposes.
