The Sixteen Voices

During the ’70s in the United Kingdom, an unnamed group of sixteen friends formed a choir and period instrument orchestra led by Harry Christophers. The group is known for performing early English polyphony, works of the Renaissance, Baroque, and early Classical music, and experiments in the diversity of 20th-century music.
Later, they were officially named The Sixteen and are widely regarded as “The Voices of Classic FM.” The international audience also welcomed them as they continued to gain popularity for their magically blended and emotive choral singing. The group earned respect in major concert halls and festivals, including in Japan, Australia, Europe, and the United States of America.
