By her admission, Davis isn’t the most athletic person ever and began archery in 1997 to attempt to compensate. Two years later, she was so confident in her skills that she started competing with the best.
Davis even competed on a national level, finishing 13th overall among the finest archers in the U.S. in 1999. Her confidence pushed her to try out for the Olympic team for the 2000 games, but she didn’t make the cut, finishing at a disappointing 24th place in the trials.
