Popular for numerous songs, including “I Got You Babe,” Sonny Bono and Cher were not only a singing duo but were also a real-life couple who met in 1963. While they lived together for some time, they weren’t in love until a bit later. They married in a make-do ceremony in 1964 and had a proper one in 1969.
The couple went on to make headlines, star in reality TV shows, and do much more. Their relationship, however, started to fizzle out around the early ’70s, but the two stayed married for a few more years to keep “The Sonny & Cher Comedy Hour” ongoing. The public wanted them together.
