In 2008, Strasburg competed with the United States domestic baseball squad in the World University Baseball Championship before making the jump to the major leagues. He made his MLB debut in 2010, striking out 14 batters in a game. After helping the Nationals beat the Houston Astros in the 2019 World Series, Strasburg was awarded the series’ Most Valuable Player.
